Mammals are amazing animals that are born alive Mammals are amazing animals that are born alive and drink their mommy's milk! They usually have fur or fluffy coats—like cows, sheep or bunnies . They breathe with their lungs and love living on dry land .

COWS

Cows are large, very calm animals. They eat grass all day and give good milk. They like to live in herds and roam in the fields.

Montbéliarde

A red and white cattle breed originating from eastern France in the 19th century. Today, it is the second largest dairy breed in France and Ireland, both in terms of the number of animals and total milk production.

Holstein

It is a large, elegant animal whose colors are black and white or red and white. A Holstein calf weighs at least 45 kg at birth, while an adult cow weighs approximately 680 kg.

Charolaise

The typical Charolais is white with a pink muzzle and light-colored hooves, horny, and long-bodied. Charolais cattle are medium to large in size with a very deep and wide body and strongly muscled loins and hips.

SHEEP

Sheep are gentle animals covered in white or beige wool. They like to graze peacefully in the meadows and always gather in groups so as not to be alone.

Serdi

This breed holds a very important place in sheep farming in Morocco. The male is highly sought after for the Feast of Sacrifice (Eid al-Adha).

Merino

Merino is a breed or group of breeds of domestic sheep within our educational farm in Marrakech, characterized by soft, fine and very abundant wool.

Île de France

The Ile de France sheep is a breed of domestic sheep from France. It originates from the Île-de-France region, near Paris.

GOATS

Goats are very clever and agile. They love to climb, jump, and explore everywhere! They also give good milk. With their little horns, they look very curious.

Alpine

A breed of goat originating in the Alps. French Alpine females are excellent milk producers and generally have large, well-formed udders with well-positioned teats. The males also have a fairly pronounced beard.

Saneen

A Swiss breed originating from the Sarine Valley. Today it is the most popular dairy goat breed in the world, as is the case on our farm in Marrakech.

HORSES

Horses are big, elegant, and very fast animals. They love galloping in the fields and feeling the wind in their manes. Gentle and courageous, they enjoy being petted and going for rides.

Purebred Arabian

The Arabian horse is one of the oldest known breeds of saddle horse. It is difficult to precisely date its appearance or to locate with certainty the exact region where it originated. However, it is generally agreed that it originated in the Fertile Crescent, the cradle of many civilizations.

Poney

Ponies are very strong and despite their small size, they are actually stronger than a standard-sized horse when compared kilo for kilo! They are stockier than horses, with shorter legs, a wider body, and a shorter, thicker neck.

CAMELS

Les becs crochus sont des oiseaux malins avec un bec en forme de crochet. Ils adorent grimper, parler, rigoler. Très joueurs, ils aiment qu’on leur parle et qu’on les regarde.

A dromedary = one hump. A camel = two humps. So far, so good. Yet, behind this instantly recognizable silhouette lie fascinating animals, true masterpieces of adaptation to the most extreme deserts on the planet.

Azarghaf

The Aïr Dromedary, or Azarghaf, is a breed of domestic dromedary originating in Niger, raised for riding and pack work. Dromedary camels are characterized by a long, curved neck, a deep, narrow chest, and a single hump.

PIG BREED

Pigs are cheerful gourmands. They have small, round snouts and curly tails. They love to roll in the mud to cool off and show off!

Dwarf pig

Small pig. This is not a distinct breed, but rather a variety of breeds that have been selectively bred to be smaller in size.

RABBITS

Rabbits are small, cuddly animals. They have long ears, a little pom-pom tail, and love to nibble on carrots. Very fast, they love to jump and run everywhere!

Dwarf rabbit

Although they may look like they came straight out of a Disney movie, dwarf rabbits are actually adorable little breeds of pet rabbits. These rabbits have a compact body, shorter ears, and a rounder head.

Lop rabbit

Native to France. These animals love to dig and are little gourmets who also like to eat a small piece of banana as well as other types of fruit.

Rex rabbit

The Rex breed of rabbit is characterized by its plush, dense and smooth fur.

Butterfly rabbit

It has a coat that is invariably white. It originates from England, and it is to hide from predators and be invisible in the snow that these rabbits have this color.

Angora rabbit

One of the oldest breeds of domestic rabbits, the Angora is bred for its long fibers, known as Angora wool. This breed can produce up to half a kilogram of wool per year.
